Do you like eating southern comfort food, drinking beer, and playing cornhole? Of course you do. You live in the south. Sauce house BBQ, located on the corner of Church Street and West Broad, is soon to be the place to fill all of those needs. The self-proclaimed “new pigs on the block” had their soft opening block party at their freshly-built barbecue complex this past Wednesday, August the 19th, and my husband and I were lucky enough to get to attend. As the thunderstorms continued to roll through Athens, co-owners Charlie Nix and Christopher Belk were serving up the perfect medicine (in the form of pulled pork) to cure our rainy day blues. The friends with barbecue in their blood have been catering fresh, hot barbecue since 2013.
