If there’s such a foodie genre as “social BBQ” Saucehouse BBQ would be it’s epicenter. Located near downtown Athens, we found available parking (a rare occurrence in Athens for a Friday night) and a welcoming fire pit area for a cool fall night. We were greeted by a friendly, welcoming staff and that set the mood for a good evening.
The menu board was appealing but the ordering system reminded me a bit of a cafeteria where you order a bit at each station and then progress towards a checkout. I’m sure the institutionalized UGA students have no problems with it though! I enjoyed the open concept dining room with plenty of room, spacious booths and large communal tables. It’s a fun place to gather with friends and family.
